1. Product Description

Our CuNi 70/30 Elbows are precision-engineered high-performance pipe fittings designed to change flow direction in demanding marine, offshore, and industrial seawater piping systems. Manufactured from premium UNS C71500 (70/30) copper-nickel alloy, these elbows deliver superior corrosion resistance, exceptional erosion resistance at high flow velocities, and outstanding long-term reliability in aggressive marine environments.

Available in 45°, 90° Long Radius, 90° Short Radius, and 180° configurations, our elbows comply with ASME B16.9, ASTM B466, EEMUA 144, and DIN 86019 standards. We support Butt Weld, Socket Weld, and Threaded connections, with sizes ranging from 1/2" to 24" NB and schedules Sch 5S to XXS. Full customization including special radii (1D to 10D), special angles, tight tolerances, and custom markings is available with 100% material traceability.

Compared to 90/10, 70/30 CuNi offers higher nickel content (29-33%), providing enhanced resistance to erosion and impingement attack at higher velocity seawater flow, making it the preferred choice for critical naval, offshore, and high-performance marine applications.

The bacteriostatic properties continuously release cuprous ions that effectively retard marine organism settlement. This natural self-cleaning characteristic eliminates costly mechanical cleaning procedures, reduces flow restriction, and significantly decreases chlorine treatment requirements.

5. Installation and Important Cautions

Installation Guidelines

Pre-cleaning is required to remove all surface contaminants before installation. TIG or MIG welding is recommended with no post-weld heat treatment required. Use matching 70/30 CuNi filler metal. Avoid direct contact with carbon steel in wet environments to prevent galvanic corrosion. Use insulating gaskets or coatings where dissimilar metal connections are unavoidable.

Important Cautions

Store in clean, dry, well-ventilated areas and avoid direct contact with carbon steel using wooden separators. Avoid mechanical damage to surfaces and bevel ends during transport. Ensure proper gasket selection and follow torque specifications. Provide adequate pipe supports to minimize stress on elbows.
